Crack On! set up Appeal Great Britain to show the positive effect of Social Media

After a week of turmoil and upset throughout the UK with the riots, a newly formed Suffolk based Charity Crack On! decided to step up and "Make a Difference"

CRACK ON ! is a group of amazing, larger than life, energetic, passionate, happy people that have been drawn together to better themselves, by helping other people to better themselves. Their aim is to offer help, support, coaching and mentoring to the under 25's.

On Monday 8th August after a weekend of violence and looting, the founders of Crack On!, Mark Byford and Gary Spencer, could see a very common theme becoming apparent. A very high percentage of those taking part in the riots were the very people Crack On! wanted to help. After some serious thought and consultation with those involved within Crack On! Appeal Great Britain was formed.

The team at Crack On! could see the media were giving a lot of criticism to Social media Platforms, Facebook and Twitter, and that it was apparent the under 25's felt they had nothing to lose by getting involved in all of this carnage. Facebook was the first port of call where the event Appeal Great Britain was set up. The next port of call was YouTube where Crack On! wanted deliver their message in video format. The first video was broadcast (above) and the whole thing started to explode. All updates to the appeal can be found on CrackOnTV. By Thursday afternoon there had been local radio interviews and the BBC had sent in a TV crew to shoot footage to gout out all day on their BBC Look East program.

Donations have been flooding in and the community are pulling together to show that good can be done with Social Media. If you want more information on getting involved please go to Crack On! on Facebook or Appeal Great Britain on Facebook. Alternatively go to www.crackon.biz

So, What will you being doing on the 40 Day Challenge? Thank you all for the support given up to now and we look forward to seeing your posts on Crack On! Lets all go "Make a Difference"
